About
My name is Roman Lizak and I have been playing organ in church settings for over 10 years. I have served as the primary organist, substitute organist, and accompanist for congregations of many sizes and traditions across Southeastern Michigan. I currently serve as the Director of Music at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Grosse Pointe, MI.
I attended Saint Pius Catholic School (K-8) in Southgate, Michigan and graduated from Divine Child High School in Dearborn, Michigan. I grew up in the church and sacred music has always felt like more than a career to me — it is a calling. I know that the music in a worship service, a wedding, or a funeral isn't decoration. It prepares hearts, carries prayers, and sometimes says what the rest of the liturgy cannot. I take that seriously and I bring that care to every service I play.
I am experienced with a wide range of liturgical and congregational repertoire — from Bach preludes to beloved Lutheran chorale settings, traditional Methodist hymnody, and the beloved standards of Catholic liturgy. If your congregation has a specific piece they love, chances are I know it. If not, I will learn it.
I am honored to serve the communities of Southeastern Michigan. Whether you need me once or regularly, I will treat your congregation — and your occasion — with the respect it deserves.
